CAPS Celebrates Earth Week With New Sustainability Initiatives

Earth Day

On April 22, 2016, CAPS will announce three new sustainability initiatives in celebration of Earth Week. This charge was led by Education and Outreach Specialist, Courtney Price, in collaboration with the CAPS administrative staff to facilitiate greener practices throughout Rightmire Hall. The waste created by our weekly seminar lunch series was the motivator behind two of these initiatives: the elimination of styrofoam cups and the purchase of compostable plate and napkin inventory. Attendees are now asked to bring their own cup, mug or water bottle while Scott Hines, Gary Posey and Austin Hartman will manage all food and paper waste. In addition, CAPS in now one of forty-seven offices on campus that is Green Buckeye Certified. Through proven resource conservation education, recycling and waste reduction, energy efficiency, green purchasing, and health and wellness we now join FOD's push to implement best sustainability practices throughout OSU.
