Breakfast of Science Champions

Students from Ms. Louren's sixth grade Livingston Middle School class attended breakfast, explored Rightmire Hall labs and facilities and participated in plant DNA as well as radish growth experiments. The twenty-two students were selected among their peers for academic excellence and an interest in math and science.

Greenhouse Coordinator, Joan Leonard and graduate students Isa Casas and Katja Machemer-Noonan instructed the students in their hands-on activities which took place in the seed prep area of the Biotech Support Facility. Donnalyn Roxey, CAPS Program Manager, led the facilities tours, fielding the many questions on education, equipment and plant research from the inquiring sixth grade minds.
