Another great event at the Franklin Park Conservatory!

ABRC & CAPS booth at Pollinator Palooza 2018

The Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center and the Center for Applied Plant Sciences participated in Franklin Park Conservatory’s Pollinator Palooza event on Saturday, June 23rd. This is the third year for Pollinator Palooza, and the second in which ABRC and CAPS have attended. This free community event takes place during National Pollinator Week, and provides guests with opportunities to learn more about the importance of pollinators. This year’s event featured over a dozen organizations, food trucks and live music. The ABRC & CAPS booth featured an exploration of pollen with Dr. Anna Dobritsa and members of her lab, as well as an Investigation Station, a pollination game and an activity designed to highlight what plants need to grow and be healthy.

This is just one of the many outreach programs ABRC and CAPS participate in throughout the year. In addition to community events, we also offer field trips to our facilities on Ohio State’s West Campus, as well as classroom visits and teacher professional development workshops.
