CAPS kept their annual retreat close to home this year, hosting its faculty, staff, postdocs, students and affiliates at the Ohio 4-H Center on Saturday, December 12th. The jam packed agenda featured Scientific Team updates, Discovery Themes presentations and a state of the Center address. The poster symposium and reception was comprised of 24 posters by the Team graduate students and postdocs, core facilities as well as the Translational Plant Sciences Graduate Program (TPSGP) Fellows. Following the reception, the TPSGP faculty and fellows burned the midlight oil with their own 1st Annual Winter Retreat. Fellows presented their rotation research, while faculty met and voted on issues such as recruitment, engagement, course selection, handbook materials, etc. With 68 participants throughout the day, the event proved to be an overwhelming success in recapping this year's triumphs and challenges, extending the CAPS reach farther within the University.
