Internships in CAPS (iCAPS)

Support for undergraduate summer research opportunities (internships in CAPS, or iCAPS) is available for CAPS members and students willing to complete an at least 10-week research experience and participate in other programmatic activities, including an end of summer research symposium. Interested hosts should work with potential students to submit an application along with the student’s CV to caps@osu.edu by January 16, 2020. Support for up to 15 awards at $6,000 each will be announced on January 31, 2020.  There is a maximum of 1 iCAPS undergraduate per lab.  Please click here for the application.

 

Expectations of students:

  • Students are expected to conduct research for at least 10 weeks and a minimum of 400 hours. The start and end dates for the program are open-ended, and more than 10 weeks of research is OK.
  • Present a poster at the end of summer symposium
  • Provide social media content to CAPS during each month the student is conducting research in the lab.
  • Provide a summary of your research and your experience at the end of your 10 weeks.

 

Expectations of the host lab

  • Hire the student into your lab for a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week (minimum 400 hours).
    • This could start as early as May and end as late as August 15, 2020.
  • Attend the end of summer symposium.
  • Provide valuable learning environment with the project detailed below.
